|Congratulations on celebrating your Centennial! Maimonides Medical Center played an integral role in our lives. My husband, Stuart, was doing his medical internship there when we got married in 1978. I moved to Brooklyn from Detroit to join him as he was starting his residency. Being a registered nurse, I also became an employee at Maimonides. I worked in the NICU until I became pregnant the following year. I had requested a transfer to Labor and Delivery, which came through as soon as I announced my pregnancy! I gave birth to our beautiful daughter on my shift (I wasn't working that night as I was in labor!),with the wonderful support of my co-workers. Our daughter was born on June 16th, 1980 at Maimonides Medical Center. My husband completed his residency shortly thereafter, and we moved out of state for his fellowship training. We ended up living in South Florida where my husband is a practicing cardiologist. Our daughter, Michelle, was raised in South Florida and graduated from the University of Florida in 2002. She has since moved back to New York City and has a successful career as a Planner for Bloomingdales.com. I am so proud of my husband and daughter, and to think it all began at Maimonides. Thank you!
