What You Should Know:
New York State's Maternity Information Law requires that we provide information about our childbirth practices and procedures. This information can help you to better understand what you can expect, learn more about your childbirth choices, and plan for your baby's birth. For information on selected childbirth procedures, such as the number of births, vaginal births, cesarean sections, use of epidurals, and specialty procedures, click here.
We believe you should play an active role in making your childbirth the kind of experience you want. To do so, you need information. Take part in childbirth preparation classes and read books about childbirth. Ask questions and discuss your wishes with your doctor or nurse-midwife.
Our staff stands ready to make your stay with us a healthy and pleasant one. In 2009, Maimonides Medical Center delivered more than 7,000 babies, more than any hospital in New York State, let alone Brooklyn.
