Grace's Joy - A TAVR Procedure Success Story

 

A Deaconess at Brown Memorial Baptist Church in Brooklyn, Grace spends her days working in her community and helping others. When Grace's heart began to give her trouble in 2012, she came to the Maimonides Heart and Vascular center for help. Having undergone previous bypass surgeries, a TAVR was her only hope for resuming a normal life. Two years later, Grace's heart is doing well and her quality is greatly improved. Vincent's Plan - An LVAD Success Story

Vincent and his wife Mary consider their golden years a "second honeymoon". After years of hard work and raising their two children, they are enjoying a retirement full of travel and experience. When Vincent developed weakness and shortness of breath two years ago, he came to Maimonides Heart and Vascular Center for help. Hoping to reclaim his active lifestyle, but with numerous complicating factors, an LVAD procedure was Vincent's only hope. Two years later, the happy couple are seeing the world together.



 

Anthony's Gift - A TAVR Procedure Success Story

A dedicated father and World War II veteran, Anthony keeps busy painting and maintaing hundreds of sacred statues for the Mount Carmel Society in Staten Island. In 2013, Anthony began having trouble maintaing his active lifestyle - he had trouble walking to his favorite places and his painting projects became more difficult. Anthony came to Maimonides Heart and Vascular Center for help. Having complications due to previous heart treatments, a TAVR procedure was Anthony's only hope for reclaiming his lifestyle. Two years later, Anthony has resumed his activities and calls these years "a new life."



 

Yanira's Freedom - A Convergent Procedure for AFiB Success Story

Yanira values her independence, and loves spending afternoons running, shopping, and going to the beach. Two years ago, Yanira developed significant heart problems - she was afraid to go outside in constant fear of fainting. Yanira came to Maimonides Heart and Vascular Center for help. She received an AFib procedure two years ago and has reclaimed her life.
