Jasminka Balderacchi, MD

Dr. Jasminka Balderacchi is the Vice Chair of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Division of Anatomical Pathology, at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY.   Dr. Balderacchi attended medical school at the University of Zagreb, Croatia.  She completed her residency at Berkshire Medical Center, followed by a fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and New York Medical College.  Dr. Balderacchi is board-certified in Anatomic Pathology & Clinical Pathology, as well as in Hematology.

Dr. Balderacchi focuses on the diagnosis of diseases such as:

• The detection and accurate pathologic diagnosis, grading and staging  of cancer, with clinical particular interest in breast cancer
• Nonneoplastic and neoplastic hematology as leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and other blood diseases

Dr. Jasminka Balderacchi has published throughout her medical career.  As the Vice Chair of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and member of Breast cancer center leadership team, Dr. Balderacchi helps lead the pathology and Cancer Center staff.  At the Maimonides Cancer Center, our team of experts -- comprised of surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, reconstructive surgeons, specially trained nurses and physician assistants, social workers, genetic counselors, nutritionists, and other clinical personnel, work collaboratively to provide optimal patient care.
