Going Beyond: One Nurse's Relationship with Haiti
This second installment of our "Going Beyond" series features the work of Carole Prinston-Benoit, RN, as she strives to improve health care in Haiti. Carole, with the help of the organization Cedecopa, funded and constructed a medical clinic in a rural Haitian town. The clinic was inaugurated in 2007, and serves the town of Davenouce and its surrounding region. After the massive 2010 earthquake, Carole also traveled to Port-au-Prince to serve in a surgical tent at one of the major hospitals in the capital.
If you would like to help Carole with her work in Haiti, please call (631) 575-0922.
The "Going Beyond" series highlights Maimonides staff who bring their passion for medicine and compassion for people beyond the walls of our Medical Center and into various communities. |
