Curriculum & Research

Curriculum

Our cardiology fellows are exposed to the diagnosis and management of congestive heart failure (CHF), vascular heart disease, lipid disorders, hypertension and myocardial infarction, among other acute and chronic heart diseases. The three years are comprised of intensive rotations in the following areas:
  • Ambulatory Clinical Cardiology
  • Cardiac Catheterization
  • Cardiac Rehabilitation
  • Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • Coronary Intensive Unit
  • Echocardiography/Nuclear
  • Echo/Research
  • EP/Research
  • Electrophysiology
  • Graphics
  • Pediatric Cardiology
  • Peripheral Vascular Disease
  • Progressive CCU
  • Research
  • Elective Rotations

Fellows also rotate to Coney Island Hospital for additional clinical experience.

Research

Research activities will focus on prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. The fellow is also exposed to the development of treatment protocols and has substantial involvement in investigative medicine. Research is performed with an investigator/mentor within the division.
