An ER Dedicated to Pediatrics

At the Maimonides Infants & Children’s Hospital, emergencies are our specialty. We are available to treat infants, children and adolescents (newborn to 17 years of age) twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. It has been more than 30 years since Maimonides established a dedicated pediatric emergency care service. Our vast experience gives us great understanding in how to offer the highest quality care and outcomes with as little risk as possible. With our expertise in bedside pediatric ultrasound, we are able to make every effort to reduce radiation exposure and limit unnecessary tests in children.

The Maimonides Infants & Children’s Hospital provides outstanding pediatric emergency care. Our fully staffed facility is specifically focused on pediatric conditions and concerns, from allergic reactions to injuries and acute illnesses. We have an excellent team of board-certified pediatric emergency medicine physicians, fellows, and pediatric emergency nurses. A wide range of specialists are also available to consult and offer services should they be required, including pediatric medical and surgical specialists. And, since Brooklyn is home to children from all over the world, translation services are available at all times and we are prepared for emergency conditions which may be uncommon in the United States. In order to reduce any anxiety children may experience, all diagnosis and care is child-friendly, delivered in an environment created just for them. We have Child Life specialists who are committed to their well-being, and an entire staff dedicated to an Ouch-less ER. No matter what time of day or night, at our ER, your child will always be treated with compassion.
