At the Maimonides Infants & Children’s Hospital, expert care for your child’s eyesight is our focus and our vision.  Maimonides has two facilities dedicated to pediatric ophthalmology: The Eye Institute, and the Pediatric Eye Center.

The Eye Institute is a state-of-the-art facility which provides routine checkups for children and adults, as well as specialty care. The Eye Institute is equipped with the latest technology to diagnose and treat all types of ophthalmologic problems. We have a talented, compassionate team of board-certified ophthalmic surgeons and diagnosticians committed to quality eye care for both child and family.  The Institute’s physicians are trained in the most up-to-date methods of laser surgery and microsurgery, and utilize the most sophisticated diagnostic tools available. The Eye Institute is at the forefront of advancing medical science by pursuing research into diseases, and by participating in multiple trials, including: therapy for dry eyes, retinal diseases and glaucoma.

The Eye Institute's focus on the youngest members of our community can be seen from our newly opened Pediatric Eye Center. At the Pediatric Eye Center, our skilled group of board-certified pediatric physicians and staff provide expert ophthalmology care just for children and adolescents.  We have the most advanced equipment to manage your child’s vision and diagnose even the most complex pediatric eye disorders. In order to reduce the child’s anxiety, we evaluate and deliver eye care that is child-friendly, in an environment created just for them.
