Heidi Becker has more than ten years experience as a Registered Dietitian. Her work experience has been in various nutrition (public health, corporate, wellness) and healthcare settings with a strong focus on HIV, Diabetes, Weight Management, and Pediatrics. Heidi’s background provides expertise in partnering with patients to make positive, informed choices about food and nutrition. She is passionate about the role healthy eating and proper food choices play in weight management, preventative health and quality of life issues.
As the Chief Nutritionist for Maimonides Cancer Center, Heidi works closely with patients and the medical team providing individualized eating plans to reduce treatment side effects and improve overall health. She is also involved in community education through various seminars, cooking demonstrations and health fairs. Her goal is to help you find practical, culturally appropriate ways to stay well nourished while undergoing cancer treatment.
SPECIAL INTERESTS: Cultural foods, nutrition education, cooking, recipe development, writing about nutrition and wellness.
